My name is Lauzanne Nel (Melnick), I am a Makeup artist in the New Jersey/New York area, who loves working in the crazy industry of Film and TV.
I started my makeup career in 2002 working on Independent Films. It was sink or swim! Those early experiences taught me how to think on my feet and how to run a department efficiently.
I am a member in good standing of the East Coast Makeup and Hair Union IATSE Local 798 since 2006. I am proud to say that I have had the opportunity to Department Head and Key on some amazing projects including Amazon - Hunters, ABC - Emergence, True TV - At Home With Amy Sedaris, Netflix - Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Luke Cage, each of which has inspired me in different ways.
One of my favorite things about this business is the collaboration to create the best atmosphere for the film/show and bring the writers and directors amazing visions to reality.
Being creative every day and seeing the results on screen no matter how big or small lights a fire inside me every morning. And I am grateful that I am trusted to make the cast look their best. (or sometimes worst)
